Bush Can't Hold It In

I Think I May Need A Bathroom Break-- Is This Possible?

For those of you having trouble reading the picture, the note, which Bush wrote to Condasleeza Rice during the UN SECURITY COUNCIL Meeting, reads:

"I Think I May Need A Bathroom Break, Is This Possible?"

AT A UN SECURITY COUNCIL MEETING!!!!!! He's not even paying attention!!!!! For Goodness sakes, the leader of the free world is considering getting up in the middle, and heading for the exit... while a leader from another country is speaking!!!!! What the hell is wrong with this guy?!?! Jesus.

-BBC Article here-

UPDATE: He did go.

Maybe he needed another Beam and/or "Coke".

and when, just when, was the last time that you sat and acted like a little boy jiggling his legs up and down because you had to pee?

he's human, give the man a break.

I'm curious, dumbass. What is the recommended course of action after five hours of UN doublespeak when nature calls? Was he supposed to piss his pants?

you have all missed the point. the funny part (or, as an american, I should say the embarrassing part) is the the president of the united states needs to ask permission from the secretary of state to take a leak. what a puppet! be a man, dude. just get up and go when you need to go.

Perhaps he is being a man... a man in a position of authority. For example, does Condi have to let the Secret Service know? Are arrangements to be made (like a sweep of the bathroom)? Does decorum require that she step in while he leaves? Perhaps cultural issues abound, like she must make an excuse for the president, or advise the others on the panel that the president of the most powerful nation on earth must leave the room for a moment...so they should get to the point or know he won't be there for part of their speech? C'mon now, it ain't that hard to figure this out. He may not the the most well spoken guy in the world, but he is smart enough and assertive enough to attain the highest office (next to Pope) in the world. Twice.

no you cockeyed, slack jawed, limp writed moron: he's not asking for permission. He's simply looking for the best opportunity to get up and take a leak. Maybe the rest of you pissants have never worked in the professional world and had to endure a 3 hour meeting held by some bladderless curmudgeon who'd rather absorb his waste fluids back into his body than give the rest of bladder-impaired mortals a bathroom break. This is just another no-win scenario you liberal douchebags are trying to erect around the president. If he'd just gotten up walked out you'd blast him for not having the decency to wait. GW has had to endure more crises in his presidency than any other in modern history. Earth-shattering, history making crises and all you can do is rip on him for needing to urinate. Your all just a bunch of pathetic neandethals in desperate need of a life. Grow up and find one!

You'd think after 5 years of being the president WOULD TEACH HIM TO GO BEFORE!!!

The photo is funny, especially when you consider the fact that everyone now knows what he did when he left the meeting, I wonder did he wash his hands? But for those of you bashing his leaving the meeting, Have you never had to go? No matter the importance of the place, when you gotta go, you just gotta go! Leave the man alone!

Thanks for all the comments guys. Even those of you calling me a "liberal douchebag." and, apparently, "limp writed" (sic). Of course I know that sometimes, nature calls at inopportune times. We've all been there. Where we haven't all been is the United Nations. Don't you think maybe what was being discussed was important enough not to miss? Obviously, some of you do not, and, Bush didn't either. Whether this is a statement about the UN being obsolete or about the U.S. attitude towards the UN is up for interpretation. But, regardless, in the end, it is simply an embarrassing photo for the President-- and given my opinions on his poor responses to recent "Earth shattering crisis," I personally am happy to shed light on it. As for those opinions of mine, they're elsewhere on this blog. Feel free to browse through and rip into me at your heart's content. But please, at least spell your insults right.

We all know that Bush (and all public figures) gives plenty of opportunities for well deserved bashings. However, when you decide it is appropriate to do so in situations such as this, you simply destroy your own credibility to criticize him at other times. How do you know that what was being discussed was important? What makes you think that he will miss anything if they call a 15 minute break? If matters of importance are discussed non-stop for five hours, at what point do you either piss your pants or request a break? The photo is humerous, that is all. It says nothing about the President or his judgment.

i don't know if I've destroyed my credibility. I don't really have any. Who am I? I'm just a guy with opinions he likes to share. I'm no expert. Some people agree, some don't. I appreciate all your comments, it puts a lot in perspective. For me, this picture showed inattentiveness (and lack of knowledge) on the president's part. He's been President for almost five years, and he doesn't know the protocol for going to the bathroom? Has he attended UN meetings before? Is this the first time in five years a five hour session (where does this number come from) prompted a crisis of the bladder? However, for others this picture was as simple as: he drank eight bottles of water before the meeting and feared a urinary tract infection if he held it in. Whichever way you choose to go, I think we can agree that it's pretty funny. Come on, we all laughed when Kerry smashed into his bodyguard while skiing. And Republican pundits were quick to jump on that as evidence of Kerry's "distain for the little people." This blog isn't Fox News. It's not fair and balanced. It makes an argument. Whichever way you interpret the evidence, that's up to you.

The thing I think is funny about the note is that it states "I THINK I may need a bathroom break" with a question mark at the end nonetheless!

Maybe I'm just weird, but I tend to know when I need to go to the restroom. Bush's note seems to imply that he's not too sure if he has to go or not. ;-)

On the back of the note - Bush asked Condi for a mirror to chop up his coke...while laura b. thinks hurricane karina hit the gulf coast - what a winner she is...
