Good Point
"If there really is a functional al-Qaeda on the continent, it hasn't needed to attack us since 9/11" -Keith Olbermann
Olbermann makes a great point. Bin Laden killed 3,000 Americans in one day. It took Bush and Company a little over a year to kill half that many. If we kept our soldiers out of Iraq, and actually sought out and killed the terrorist that started this whole mess, the death toll would be far far less.
Bush and Rove and all the rest of the Republicans are proud of saying there hasn't been another terrorist attack in this country since 9/11. The truth is, why should the terrorists bother to attack here when they're doing such a good job killing Americans in Iraq? Was that Bush's great strategy? Make our soldiers into targets to distract terrorists from attacking the U.S.?
If so, it's working.
Rove said this: "Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers."
I would state it like this:
"Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and used it as an excuse to go to war in Iraq; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to track down and kill Bin Laden and Al Queda."
I'll repeat it till the day his head is on a pike: Where is Bin Laden? Why haven't we gotten him, four years later? What does Iraq have to do with catching him?
Conservatives saw 9/11 and saw an opportunity to reduce our freedoms, attack our enemies, divide our country, and advance their agenda.
Liberals saw 9/11 and we saw our friends, relatives and neighbors murdered by a man named Bin Laden. We mourned, and vowed revenge.
But the Conservatives were in power, so guess who's vision won out?
Why would Rove make a comment like this? To divide the country further when we need to be united so badly?
If so, it's working.

Stop Fucking With Nature!
Ok, a while back, there was some woman who breast-fed tiger cubs. The tiger cubs, unfortunately died. Now, zookeepers continue to force strange animal interactions that would maybe be cute if they weren't so horribly frankensteinian:

Note: She does NOT look happy.
Read more of zoo keepers getting off on their sick interspecies fetish here.
And my previous report on the wild kingdom, here.

Papa Saddam
Saddam Hussein is a neat freak who chows down on Doritos, thinks Clinton was an "ok guy," hates the Bushes and dispenses love advice to his U.S. guards.
“He was like, ‘you gotta find a good woman. Not too smart, not too dumb. Not too old, not too young. One that can cook and clean.”’
Sounds a lot like my grandfather(Except the whole, genocide, dictator thing).
Saddam did not, however, add, "And she's got to be Jewish."
Meanwhile, the head of the CIA says he knows where Bin Laden, murderer of 3,000 Americans, is.
From The AP:
If we know where Bin Laden is, let's kill him. I don't care if he's living in Canada. Let's take him out-- sovereign nations be damned. That makes more sense than fighting Iraqis, doesn't it?

From The AP:
The director of the CIA says he has an “excellent idea” where Osama bin Laden is hiding, but that the United States’ respect for sovereign nations makes it more difficult to capture the al-Qaida chief. The United States' respect for sovereign nations??? Say What? We invaded Iraq for no reason, pounded Afghanistan's dirt into slightly more pulverized dirt, renamed fries "Freedom Fries" and told people to stop buying Chardonnay cause we were mad at the French, shot up an Italian journalist and her bodyguard, then let all of the soldiers involved off the hook for it, and some may remember when we told most of the countries that make up the "United" Nations exactly where they could put their veto against Operation Freedom.
If we know where Bin Laden is, let's kill him. I don't care if he's living in Canada. Let's take him out-- sovereign nations be damned. That makes more sense than fighting Iraqis, doesn't it?

Why The Media Sucks
Imagine this. Imagine that President Bush buys a whip, and, on the White House lawn, starts flaying violently several innocent people, who came for the White House tour.
Would the media cover it?
Would there be a headline on the front page of the newspaper? You might say, stop being silly, Adam, of course the media would report on it. Of course it would be huge news.
But the truth is, there's an amazing amount of stories just as shocking as that hypothetical one. And they're not being picked up in the national media nearly as much as the Terri Schiavos, Runaway Brides, and Pop Star Pedophiles are.
For instance.
Did you know there's an American businessman, held hostage by insurgents in Iraq at this very moment??
Media Silent, Locals Perplexed
Other countries, like Italy, for example, actually care that their citizens are being held hostage by terrorists. When one of their reporters showed up hostage in a terrorist video, it became a national story, so much so that the government "arranged" (paid) for her release, and sent in agents to rescue her. (Our soldiers shot one of those agents, and her, while they were on their way to the airport, by the way.)
But of course, to actually report on an American being held hostage would be "unpatriotic," the same as would be reporting on Haliburton's sweetheart government contracts (and missing taxpayer money to the tune of 800 million), the Bush administration's reduction (by 1.2 billion) of a penalty levied against the Tobacco industry, and how the Bush squad recently got rid of language in a GLOBAL WARMING PROTOCOL that stated GLOBAL WARMING WAS A PROBLEM. Yes, report any of these things to the level that Michael Jackson was reported, and you're against America, my friends.
So the media is content with back page stories on front page hypocrisy, incompetence, disaster and deception.
At least until the Tom and Katie breakup.

What Do You Call A Hypocrite In Washington Part II
"I wouldn't even attempt to make a diagnosis from a videotape." -Bill Frist, June 2005
"I question [Terri Schiavo's diagnosis] based on a review of the video footage. ... And that footage, to me, depicted something very different than persistent vegetative state... she certainly seems to respond to visual stimuli." -Bill Frist, March 2005
Did he change his tune in response to the autopsy, which revealed that Terri, in addition to being irreverably brain damaged, was blind?
Or did he look at the poll numbers, showing that most Americans were against the way Congress intervened in the matter?
Either way, Bill Frist sure has a weak memory. It only took him three months to forget he did, indeed, make a diagnosis by videotape.
Coincidently, the same time he remembered elections are coming up in just over a year.
